Privacy

Your privacy matters to me. This page explains what I collect, how I use it, and your choices.

Analytics

This site counts visits so I can see what gets read and where readers come from. It shows no ads and does not sell or share what it collects.

Google Analytics records the pages you open, the site that sent you, your approximate location, and your device and browser. It sets a cookie so a return visit counts as the same reader. It never gets your name or email address, advertising features are off, and it keeps visit-level data for 14 months.

You can turn off analytics in this browser and turn it back on whenever you like. A content blocker works too.

Hosting

Netlify, which hosts the site, counts requests and measures page-load speed.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, Buttondown keeps your email address to send new essays, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
